Sexual Perversity in Chicago and The Duck Variations by David Mamet.
Sexual Perversity focuses on two male office workers, Danny and Bernie, on the make in the swinging singles scene of the early 1970s. When each takes a lover, the politics of sex and the attendant confusions lead to many comic turns that throw yet another light on the eternal war of the sexes.
The Duck Variations illustrates the adage that those who talk the most authoritatively on a given subject usually know the least about it. Two old men discuss the mating habits of ducks, about which they know nothing, and their conversation goes on to examine law, friendship and death, in what becomes a fugue on the theme of happiness. Through hilarious observations and arguments, they construct a composite view of ducks and, by extension, life.
Performances will be November 9-10 and November 14-17, 2012.
Performances at Heberton Hall (Public Library Annex), 72 Winter St., Keene, NH
