Announcing June's Field Trip!

On Saturday, June 24th from 10AM-12PM, Arts Alive invites the local creative community to hear about how artists and galleries work together. Light, breakfast style refreshments will be available as attendees talk, connect, and learn about the artists of the Hannah Grimes Marketplace Gallery.

Artists listen as Petey and Jim share the story of how they opened the Mitchell Giddings Fine Art gallery in downtown Brattleboro.

Starting at 10:30, Marketplace Manager Justin Somma will introduce himself and share the gallery’s story. Justin will elaborate on the expanded space and how the Marketplace intends to use it to support local art, as well as explain what the gallery looks for in an artist. A few of the artists who are currently on display will then introduce themselves and how they’ve found success as professional makers and crafters. These include dreamy painters Jeanne Maguire Thieme and Alicia Drakiotes. Kathleen Kennedy, who crafts prints of her ink and colored pencil work, will also share. Questions and conversation are welcome. Registrants will be free to speak to fellow artists and explore towards the end of the event. The gallery showcases local work in a wide variety of mediums including paints, watercolors, prints, embroidery, wood, and more.

Field Trips are $10 to cover the cost of refreshments and $5 for Arts Alive members.
